  • 2 lbs. chicken tenders or thinly sliced breasts
  • 1 cup Kewpie Roasted Sesame Marinade, plus more for spreading
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided plus more for brushing
  • 3 bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 6 hoagie rolls, halved horizontally
  • 2 avocados, thinly sliced


  • Place 1 lb. chicken tenders in a small baking dish or container. Pour 1 cup Kewpie Roasted Sesame Marinade over the top and let marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours.
  • In a large 12-inch skillet, add 1 tablespoon oil and sear marinated chicken until golden brown and cooked through; about 3 minutes per side. Remove chicken from skillet to a plate to rest, then slice.
  • Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to skillet and add 3 sliced bell peppers. Sauté until softened and beginning to brown. Season with a big pinch salt and pepper.
  • Meanwhile, preheat your oven to a low broil. Brush 6 hoagie rolls with oil, then transfer to a sheet pan. Toast under the broiler, watching closely, until just toasted on the edges.
  • Assemble sandwiches by spreading extra Kewpie Roasted Sesame Marinade on each toasted roll, top with sliced chicken, sauteed peppers, and sliced avocado.


  • Serve with a tossed salad and cut fruit to complete the meal.


  • Protein: Swap chicken tenders for thinly sliced pork or turkey tenderloins.
  • Vegetarian: Swap chicken for halloumi or extra-firm tofu, drained and pressed. Marinate and cook as written.
  • Gluten-Free: Swap Kewpie Marinade for a gluten-free store-bought sesame dressing.
