Rainbow Waffles

Description

These irresistible homemade waffles are topped off with fruit corresponding with rainbow order. A perfect cooking craft for kids in the kitchen!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk to combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. 
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just until incorporated. 
  3. Grease your waffle iron with non-stick spray. Based on the size of your waffle iron, pour in an adequate amount of batter and cook until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter. 
  4. Halve and serve waffles with fruit in rainbow order, a drizzle of maple syrup, or whipped cream clouds.
