Ingredients

  • 12 hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 12 slices thick deli-style ham
  • 12 slices swiss cheese
  • 1 apple thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish or similar sized casserole dish.
  • Slice Hawaiian sweet rolls crosswise so that the rolls are split in half. Do not separate the rolls, they should all still be connected when you slice them so that the bottom halves stay connected and the top halves stay connected.
  • Spread ¼ cup mayonnaise over the bottom halves. Top with 9-12 slices thick deli-style ham, then 9–12 slices of swiss cheese, and then apple slices. Top with the top halves of the rolls.
  • In a small bowl whisk together 4 tablespoons melted butter, 1 tablespoon dijon mustard, and 2 teaspoons honey. Brush mixture over the sandwiches.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melty and sliders are browned on top.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

  • Pair this recipe with a simple green salad and corn on the cob.

SWAP SUGGESTIONS

  • Vegetarian: Remove ham and increase the apple.
  • Gluten-Free: Use a gluten-free sweet roll.

WEEKEND PREP / MAKE AHEAD

  • Assemble rolls in advance (do not bake), cover and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Just before baking, pour melted butter mixture over the top.
